এইচ পি তে লেখা যেকোন প্রোগ্রাম তথা স্ক্রিপ্ট index.php এর অনুরূপ (.php) ডট পি এইচ পি এক্সটেনশন দ্বারা save করা হয়।পি এইচ পি তে লেখা স্ক্রিপ্ট সমূহ ব্রাউজারে প্রদর্শণের পূর্বে C:\xampp\htdocs লোকেশনে অর্থাৎ htdocs ফোল্ডারের মধ্যে রাখতে হবে। যদি পি এইচ পি স্ক্রিপ্ট বা ফাইলটি index.php হয় তাহলে ব্রাউজারের মাধ্যমে প্রদর্শন করার জন্য index.php ফাইলটিকে htdocs ফোল্ডারের মধ্যে রাখতে হবে। ব্রাউজারে ফাইলটি প্রদর্শণের জন্য ব্রাউজারের এড্রেস বারে লেখতে হবে http://localhost/index.php । আবার যদি htdocs ফোল্ডারের মধ্যে কোন নতুন ফোল্ডার যেমন site নামে একটা ফোল্ডার তৈরি করে তার মধ্যে index.php ফাইলটিকে রাখা হয় তাহলে ব্রাউজারের এড্রেস বারে লেখতে হবে http://localhost/site/index.php ।
